About the Artist

I’m Lana Buisson, a Louisiana-based painter with a love for color, movement, and finding beauty in familiar things.

I’ve been drawn to art for as long as I can remember. Even as a kid, I took coloring pages and school art projects way more seriously than necessary. I continued taking art classes throughout high school, which is where I really discovered my love of painting. It has always been something I’ve loved coming back to.

These days, I’m especially inspired by color and movement. I’m drawn to subjects that have a little beauty, personality, or movement to them, often things that simply make me stop and look. When I paint, I’m less interested in capturing something exactly as it is and more interested in capturing what made me notice it in the first place. I love exaggerating those things through unexpected color, loose, expressive brushwork, and a sense of playfulness.

A lot of my inspiration comes from the world around me in the South, from wildlife and gardens to architecture and everyday scenes, but really, I’ll paint anything that catches my eye and makes me want to pick up a brush. More than anything, I hope my work brings a little joy to your space!

Outside of painting, I’m a stay-at-home mom to two little girls who are pretty much my whole world. I fit painting into the little pockets of time between mom life, often with my toddler painting right alongside me. Getting to share something I love with her makes it even more special.
